L'evento

Food selectivity can be both a medical and behavioral issue, related to sensory, motor, and perceptual systems. Neurophysiology highlights the influence of neurosensoriality and the microbiome on feeding and behavioral regulation. It is important to distinguish between taste sensitivity and food preferences, as selectivity can affect orofacial, swallowing, and masticatory functions. A multidisciplinary approach is essential, with speech therapists, therapists, and other specialists collaborating in observation and intervention, paying attention to sensorimotor aspects before addressing food training.

Plan

  • Definition: Medical or behavioral problem?

  • Broad-spectrum nutrition: relationship with sensory, motor, and perceptual systems

  • Neurophysiology of perception: neurosensoriality in feeding disorders

  • Microbiome and microbiota in nutrition: the relationship with the stress axis and behavioral modulation
